We have revised many of the original drawings, and new ones, which reflect the most contemporary concepts, have been added to aid in the understanding of pathogenetic mechanisms. Pattern recognition in the appreciation of gross and microscopic pathologic anatomy has been enhanced by the presentation of all photographs (except for radiographs and electrob micrographs) in full color.
