When single-parent David Harwood loses his job and moves from Boston back to his childhood home of
Promise Falls, he's not expecting anything very exciting to happen. But when he goes to see his cousin Marla still not quite right after losing her baby - he finds something he definitely wasn't counting on.

Marla is caring for a new baby, a baby she says was given to her "by an angel' - but when David tries to find the real mother, he discovers a grisly murder scene.
